During my childhood, I always spent Christmas night together with my younger brother, laying next to the Christmas tree and eating piparkūkas [Latvian type of gingerbread]. We tried to keep this tradition, regardless of the years that passed as we grew older. Now, this is one of the lost traditions. One that has been so dear to my heart like many others.

These are the traditions that were lost to age, colonization, globalization and many more obstacles that they struggled to overcome. This month’s issue will take us back to our yesterday, childhood, and history! This issue is monumentous for First Person, as it contains our 100th post!
